Bilogistik Adapts to Royal Decree 214/2025 with its Environmental Product Declaration

At Bilogistik, sustainability is not an obligation, it is a conviction. At a time when new legislation is setting the pace toward a lower-carbon economy, we have aligned our processes with the most recent regulations. The publication of Real Decreto 214/2025, which came into force in June and establishes requirements for the calculation and verification of the carbon footprint for certain services, confirms that our strategic environmental decisions are in line with the most demanding expectations.

What does Royal Decree 214/2025 establish?

Royal Decree 214/2025 develops the obligations for calculating, verifying, and communicating the full life-cycle carbon footprint in sectors with high climate impact. Although its implementation is progressive and currently limited to companies and operators exceeding certain thresholds of activity or turnover, its message is clear: environmental traceability and transparency are no longer optional.

Voluntary transparency, independent verification

Bilogistik has developed and published its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This declaration was prepared in accordance with ISO 14025, ISO 14040/44, and the Product Category Rules PCR 2023:06 Transport Services, and has been independently verified by accredited third parties.

The EPD, based on a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), analyzes and communicates the environmental impacts of the logistics service for raw materials. With this, we not only measure but also manage and improve our real, verified environmental impacts, aligning ourselves with methodologies consistent with ISO 14083 and the EN15804+A2 standards used in the European framework for Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) calculation.

Pioneers in sustainable logistics

Publishing this EPD is yet another demonstration of Bilogistik’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and transparency. Our goal is not only to meet the most demanding regulatory requirements but also to lead by example. Thanks to this work, those clients who are legally required to provide this information can integrate verified environmental data from our processes into their own value chains and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) strategies.

In addition, we have implemented measures such as:

– Use of vehicles compliant with the latest EURO standards and the introduction of alternative fuels.
– Control and management of packaging waste and auxiliary materials.
– Application of emission-reduction technologies in our facilities, such as suction and particle filtration systems in goods handling processes.

We are proud to be one of the first companies in the logistics sector to have an Environmental Product Declaration for our services, and to demonstrate that sustainability and competitiveness can —and must— go hand in hand.
